SPACEIO ~ LINUX  Command of the Day #3

find: stop guessing where a file is

Where is that file? Stop guessing.

find / -name "*.conf" 2>/dev/null

What it does

find searches the whole system by name. 2>/dev/null hides the "permission denied" noise, so you only see results.

Why it matters

Configuration files hold settings and sometimes secrets, so knowing how to locate them is basic Linux and basic security.

Try it

Find all .log files on your system. How many did you get? Share what you found in the community.
