DNS: the phone book of the internet
You type a name. Your computer needs a number. DNS connects them.
dig example.com
What it does
Computers find each other by IP address, but people remember names. DNS translates a name like example.com into an address.
Why it matters
When DNS fails, sites look "down" even though they're running. Attackers also abuse it, by sending people to fake addresses.
Try it
Run dig example.com or nslookup example.com and read the answer section. Share what you found in the community.
